Our New Zealand schedule, as issued to a New Zealand buyer. King (167 cm) and Super King (183 cm) are made on request, and every schedule is confirmed against your own measurements.

The market

How New Zealand brands buy bed linen

King is narrower than in Australia

A New Zealand King is 167 cm wide, a width Australia does not use, and a New Zealand Super King at 183 cm equals an Australian King. Label by finished size if you sell in both.

Duvet covers, by that name

New Zealanders say duvet cover where Australians say quilt cover. It is the same empty shell over a separate duvet, closed with buttons, ties or a zip.

King Single is standard

King Single, 107 x 203 cm, is a core size for children's rooms and student housing, so it sits in our standard New Zealand schedule.

The flat sheet stays

Many New Zealand households still use a flat sheet under the duvet, so sheet sets pair a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and pillowcases.

Shipping

Getting goods to New Zealand

DestinationPortsTransit from Nhava Sheva
North IslandAuckland, TaurangaAbout 26 to 36 days
South IslandLytteltonA few days after Auckland

Planning ranges from Nhava Sheva, usually transhipped again off an Australian or Southeast Asian call, before customs and biosecurity clearance.

Biosecurity

The Ministry for Primary Industries screens every container: it must arrive clean, and any timber packaging must be ISPM 15 treated. Packing is agreed in the specification so it passes.

Customs entry

A broker files the import entry with New Zealand Customs, and GST is charged on import.

Documents from us

Commercial invoice, packing list and origin documentation the trade agreement asks for, with export clearance and inland transport to the port handled at our end.

Duty

Trade terms

The India-New Zealand free trade agreement, signed on 27 April 2026 and ratified by both countries on 21 September 2026, enters into force on 20 October 2026. From that date every tariff line on Indian goods is duty free, textiles including bed linen and table linen, for goods with valid proof of origin. Before that date normal duty applies. GST is charged on import either way.

Verified on 6 October 2026 against the sources below. Duty and trade terms change, so confirm the current position before you price: MFAT: New Zealand-India FTA, New Zealand Customs.

Labelling

What the label must carry

  • Fibre content, mandatory under New Zealand's consumer information standards.
  • Care instructions, also mandatory under those standards.
  • Country of origin, required for clothing and footwear, and expected by retailers for bedding.

Labels are built into production to the wording in your specification. Guidance: Consumer Protection NZ: information standards.

Market rules

Rules worth knowing

What a buyer selling into New Zealand is expected to have in hand, beyond the label. Each links to its official source. Verified on 6 October 2026.

Fibre and care labelling

New Zealand's consumer information standards make both fibre content and care labelling mandatory on textile products, bedding included, so both go on every label.

Consumer Protection NZ

MPI biosecurity

The Ministry for Primary Industries checks every container for soil, seeds and insects, and timber packaging must be ISPM 15 treated. Clean packing is set in the specification.

The FTA start date

Duty falls away for goods entering on or after 20 October 2026 with valid proof of Indian origin. Shipments arriving earlier pay normal duty, so time a first order with that in mind.

Questions

Common questions from New Zealand brands

Is bed linen from India duty free in New Zealand?

From 20 October 2026, under the India-New Zealand agreement, for goods with valid proof of Indian origin. Before that date normal duty applies. GST is charged on import either way. Duty position verified on 6 October 2026.

Is a New Zealand King the same as an Australian King?

No. A New Zealand King is 167 cm wide; an Australian King is 183 cm, the same as a New Zealand Super King. We label by finished size so one range can serve both.

Do you make King Single?

Yes. It is part of our standard New Zealand schedule at 107 x 203 cm.

Why does New Zealand take longer than Australia?

Most boxes tranship again off an Australian or Southeast Asian call, so an Auckland arrival usually runs about 7 days behind the equivalent Australian port.
