Home textiles made for the Belgian market

We make private label bed linen, table linen and home décor for Belgian importers, retailers, hospitality groups and brands. Covers follow the Low Countries' wide formats, labels are made in the languages Belgium sells in, and goods land at Antwerp.

The market

How Belgian brands buy bed linen

One wide cover

Like the Netherlands, Belgium dresses a double bed with one wide duvet over two pushed-together mattresses, so the 240 x 220 cm cover is the standard double.

A multilingual market

Belgium sells in Dutch in the north, French in the south and German in the east, so labels and packaging inserts are usually printed in two or three languages.

A gateway for the region

Antwerp serves Belgium, the Netherlands, northern France and Germany. Goods cleared there move on across the EU without further customs.

No top sheet

A Belgian set is a fitted sheet, a duvet cover and pillowcases, with flat sheets made only on request.

Shipping

Getting goods to Belgium

DestinationPortsTransit from Nhava Sheva
AntwerpPort of Antwerp-BrugesAbout 22 to 32 days
ZeebruggePort of Antwerp-Bruges, ZeebruggeAbout 22 to 32 days

Planning ranges from Nhava Sheva via the Suez Canal, before customs clearance. Red Sea disruption can add 7 days or more, so your forwarder confirms the schedule.

EORI number

Importing into the EU needs an EU EORI number, registered in the member state where you first import, and a broker files the declaration against the EU tariff.

Labels in each language

Fibre composition must appear in the official language of the area where the goods are sold, so Belgian labels are usually Dutch and French, often with German. The wording is set in your specification.

Documents from us

Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, with export clearance and inland transport to the port handled at our end.

Duty

Trade terms

The India-EU free trade agreement was concluded in January 2026 but is not yet in force, so normal EU duty applies to bed linen and table linen imported into Belgium today, under chapter 63 of the EU's Common Customs Tariff. Once the agreement is in force, Indian textiles are set to enter the EU without duty. Confirm the rate on your product's code in TARIC before you price a range.

Verified on 6 October 2026 against the sources below. Duty and trade terms change, so confirm the current position before you price: European Commission: EU-India trade, EU TARIC tariff database.

Labelling

What the label must carry

  • Fibre composition in the language of the region of sale: in practice Dutch and French, often with German.
  • Care symbols, not legally required but expected by Belgian retailers.
  • Country of origin, not required by EU law but often requested by buyers.

Labels are built into production to the wording in your specification. Guidance: Your Europe: textile labelling.

Market rules

Rules worth knowing

What a buyer selling into Belgium is expected to have in hand, beyond the label. Each links to its official source. Verified on 6 October 2026.

General Product Safety Regulation

Since 13 December 2024, a consumer product sold in the EU must carry the manufacturer's name and postal and electronic address, and a product made outside the EU needs an economic operator established in the EU who is responsible for it. Usually that is the importing brand, named on the label or packaging.

EUR-Lex: Regulation (EU) 2023/988

Azo dyes under REACH

REACH restricts azo colourants that can release listed aromatic amines above 30 mg/kg in textiles in prolonged contact with skin, which includes bed linen and towels. We dye with AZO-free dyes.

ECHA: substances restricted under REACH

Language of the region

Under the EU textile regulation, fibre composition must appear in the official language of the area of sale, which in Belgium means Dutch, French or German depending on the region.

Questions

Common questions from Belgian brands

Which languages should a Belgian label carry?

The language of the region where the goods are sold. Most brands selling nationally print Dutch and French, and many add German. We print the wording you specify.

Are Belgian bedding sizes the same as Dutch?

Largely, yes: the same wide covers and 60 x 70 cm pillowcases. Some Belgian ranges also sell the 65 x 65 cm square, which we make too.

Should we import through Antwerp or Rotterdam?

Either clears goods for the whole EU. Antwerp is the natural choice for a Belgian warehouse; the sailing times are similar.

Is there duty on Indian bed linen in Belgium?

For now, normal EU duty applies, until the India-EU agreement enters into force. Check the current rate in TARIC before you price. Duty position verified on 6 October 2026.
